How to create a Pasifika Style gallery wall

HOW TO CREATE A PASIFIKA STYLE WALL GALLERY

Gallery walls are like sooo 2007; I remember creating a terrible one (haha) in the sitting room using all of the family portraits that my mum wanted to display. Fast forward 14 years on, I look back and think - what was I thinking with the layout! (lol)

TIPS:

1. Collect a range of Pasifika inspired artworks, prints, cultural artifacts or photographs that you love. Think about size and scale of each piece.

2. Decide on a theme. Some examples: tropical pasifika, Monochrome Pasifika, eclectic

3. Even or Odd? Decide on an even or odd number of frames in your collection.

4. Pick your frames. Are you going for a uniform look eg. all black picture frames OR the eclectic vibe? a random collection of frames that will tie in with your theme?

5. Play with layout. The easiest way to do this is to lay out your frames/artifcacts on the floor before committing them to the wall. Have fun!

* Don’t like gallery walls? Sure. Lean your frames (of various sizes) on a console, desk, table or hutch for a casual or layered look!
